“Challenging time” for Charlene of Monaco.
Prince Albert (63) and his wife Charlene (43) spent their tenth wedding anniversary on July 1, 2021, separately. He was in Monaco, her former home in South Africa. Fodder for further speculation that the marriage of the Monegasque princely couple has been in crisis for a long time. In an interview with “Channel24”, Charlene speaks of a “challenging time”. But she’s not alluding to a potential crisis with Albert.
“Albert is my rock and my strength.”
Charlene von Monaco is currently holding a severe “ear, nose and throat infection” in South Africa, the palace had reported. Since “several, complicated interventions” were necessary, the princess was not allowed to fly home to her husband and the six-year-old twins Jacques and Gabriella. That should also have been why Charlene was not with her Albert in Monaco for the tenth wedding anniversary.
The fact that she regrets very much in the “Channel24” interview. “It’s a challenging time for me. I miss my husband and children terribly. It was an extremely difficult moment for me when the doctors told me I couldn’t fly back home for my tenth wedding anniversary.”
For her husband, Charlene finds unusually expressive words: “Albert is my rock and my strength and without his love and support I would not have made it through this painful time.”
Will that take the wind out of the sails of those who doubt their happiness in love? Hardly likely. A former companion of the prince is amazed at how serious Albert seems to have been at Charlene’s side over the years. In the video, she remembers an altogether different man he used to be.
