Glitter, glamor and golden trophies: that’s what the Oscar awards stand for! Although everything was different due to the pandemic in 2021, and the event was more trivial, there were still some moments that were talked about online. Not only did the looks on the red carpet cause a stir, but the ceremony itself also divided the minds of the Internet community. We’ve rounded up the best Twitter reactions for you here.

Academy Awards like a film?

Because of the strict Corona rules, the Oscar ceremony took place on several stages this year. The central location was Union Station in Los Angeles, a historic train station that has just been extensively restored. The show was produced by Steven Soderbergh (58). The director had announced a Hollywood production in advance: “The award ceremony will feel like a film. There is an overarching theme that will be expressed in different ways during the gala.”

That also meant moving away from some long-established processes. The actors had no time limit on their speeches and were allowed to say thanks for as long as they wanted. And the evening did not end with the award for “Best Film”, but with the two main actor categories.
