Box champ in deep sadness
Former British boxing world champion Chris Eubank mourns the loss of his son Sebastian. The 29-year-old was found on a beach in Dubai, allegedly drowned. Sebastian would have turned 30 in a few days and left behind a one-month-old son.
Sebastian Eubank was a fighter himself.
“I never thought that I would write these words or experience the feeling I now have about the loss of my son. My family and I are devastated,”Eubank Sr. is quoted in the Daily Mirror.
Just a month ago, Sebastian Eubank’s wife Salma gave birth to their first child, Raheem.
Eubank Jr. had followed his victorious father into the ring late. He completed a professional light heavyweight fight in 2018 and 2019, both of which he won on points. In the United Arab Emirates, he was also active in mixed martial arts (MMA). Brother Chris Eucbank Jr. is also a professional boxer.
Father Chris Eubank had a successful time in the 90s. In 1990, he became the WBO middleweight champion. Less than a year later, he won the WBO super middleweight belt. He successfully defended this on February 5, 1994, in Berlin against Graciano Rocchigiani, who has since passed away. In March 1995, he was dethroned, after which he was no longer the world champion.
